Are there any changes to arrival times to be aware of?

To ensure our cleaners have ample time to carry out the additional cleaning and cottage preparation we have implemented during this time, our arrival times have been amended slightly.

Guests are now ask to arrive no earlier than 5pm on the day our their booking.

Health & Safety

What extra measures are being put in place at properties to stop the spread of coronavirus?

Although all of our cottages are already cleaned to a high standard, we have implemented additional cleaning measures following professional guidance. This includes using products designed to kill 99.9% of bacteria and are trusted by healthcare professionals, allocating additional time for the cleaning of each cottage to ensure that it is clean and safe upon your arrival, giving more focus to commonly touched areas such as door handles, light switches, kitchen surfaces etc.

Non-essential items in the cottages

In order to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID between bookings we have made the decision to remove certain non-essential items from the cottages. Certain items such as DVDs, books and games that we would usually provide for guests have been temporarily taken out of the cottages to ensure guests safety.

Is there anything I can do to help during my stay?

Our cleaning team has put together a few extra safety measures to help prepare for the next guests arrival, they have asked if you could:

  • Strip all beds and bag the dirty linen in the bags provided.

  • Place all towels (even unused), bath-mats & tea towels in the bags provided and tie the tops.

  • Empty any waste into bags, tie the tops and place into the general waste bins.

  • Place any used cups, glasses, cutlery, plates in the dishwasher and set and run wash cycle (not eco programme).

Thank you for your help and understanding.

Amendments & Updates

Can I transfer my booking to a later date if I do not wish to travel?

If you are unable to, or do not wish to travel for any reason, it may be possible to amend your booking to a different date in the future. Please get in touch with us at enquiries@holidaycottageinnorthumberland.co.uk to arrange a new arrival date.

How does the government’s “rule of 6” affect my booking?

The governments Rule of 6 limits socialising between groups of more than 6 people, not including children under 12, and as all of our cottages sleep between 3 and 6 guests, this would mean that our cottages would be unaffected by this rule.

These rules are stricter under areas considered under local lockdown where the rule of 6 only applies to people within the same household or support bubble. If you are unsure on whether your party meets these criteria please get in touch with us.

What happens if the government's guidelines change?

We are paying attention to government guidelines and any changes they implement. If there are any changes that will affect your booking and mean the cottages need to be closed for guests then we will contact you with information about you can do next.

If you are unsure about the status of your booking please reach out to us and we will be happy to advise.
